Kill that Puppet

Photography | Mamiya Medium Format | 120 Film

"Kill That Puppet" is a photographic exploration of violence, control, and disposability. Through a series of staged scenes, delicate, expensive stuffed animals—once symbols of comfort and care—are bound, stabbed, torn open, and left abandoned. Their softness is destroyed, their forms manipulated and violated, evoking the way people, too, can be treated as objects—adored when they are desirable, discarded when they lose their worth.

Set against a windowsill, a space meant for both display and neglect, the series highlights the unsettling power dynamic between ownership and destruction. Harsh lighting amplifies every wound, every unraveling thread, exposing the brutality hidden beneath the illusion of affection. Shot on a Mamiya medium format film camera, the images carry a raw, tangible quality, reinforcing the eerie contrast between fragility and violence. In a world where devotion often comes with control, Kill That Puppet challenges the fine line between admiration and cruelty.
